Last weekend my sister-in-law came over so we could make my nephew a t-shirt quilt for his graduation. Shhhh it's a secret, I think I'm safe, I'm sure he doesn't even know I have a blog. :) It turned out really cool! A couple of the shirts are quite worn but hopefully will remind him of great high school days! We used non woven interfacing on the t-shirts to help them hold their shape and cut the t-shirts into 14 inch squares and used 3 1/2 inch stripes for the sashing. Here's a picture of the almost finished quilt, my sister-in-law just needs to tie it. I'm pretty sure I'll be making one for each of my kids, I still can't believe I'll have a high schooler next year!!! Time to start saving some t-shirts!

Thinking of You
The challenge for day 57 at 365 Cards is say it with subtlety-the idea is to create a card that you could give to pretty much anyone you know (male/female, co-workers, family members, friends), so it can't be too personal and it can't be gender-specific -- but of course there's a catch. It must have a sentiment on it, and it cannot be a thank you note. Otherwise it can be of any theme.
Have a great day!

Cake Pops
Yesterday I made cake pops with a friend. They turned out so pretty! She made a cake with a mix and after the cake was baked she crumbled cake and added 3/4 of a can of frosting. After rolling the cake/frosting into balls she refrigerated over night. We dipped the cake balls into melted candy melts, white and white with a small amount of blue coloring and some in chocolate. We followed the directions from Bakerella. These cake pops are so much fun, they make me happy. :) We added pearl dust to the pops with a small paint brush after the candy melt dried. The pearl dust made the cake pops shimmer. So much fun! Have a great day!

Pure Contentment
The challenge for day 37 at 365 Cards is pure contentment-the challenge is to use an image that represents "pure contentment". For me having time to sit and read a book uninterrupted is pure contentment. Those moments are few and far between. I used my a child's year cartridge for this card. Please send a card to Max. Have a great day!

Magnetic Board
This weekend I had 6 girls from church over for a craft party, they were 3rd - 6th grade. One of the crafts we made was a magnetic board, I saw this craft at Chic' n Scratch. They turned out really cute! We used embellishment glue, corner chomper, the crop-a-dile, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and galvanized flashing shingles(I get mine at Menard's in the roofing department, they are 5 X 7 and are sold in a 10 pack for around $2.50). Angie from Chic' n Scratch has a video tutorial. Be very careful with the corners you cut off and the holes you punch out, they are VERY sharp, I now keep band aids in my craft room... I found that the Pioneer extra strong embellishment glue stick works really well for holding the paper on the metal. I wish the Walmart by me still carried this glue stick, the Elmer's craft bond extra strong glue stick works worked pretty well too. Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Nathan!
Today's challenge at 365 Cards is super sketchy Sunday. I needed to make a card for my son and I knew I wanted to make a baseball card for him with my baseball solutions cricut cartridge. When I saw the sketch at 365 Cards today I knew this was the cut I wanted to use. Happy Birthday Nathan!
Cupcake Birthday Card
Last week was spring break for my kids and my boys went to visit Grandma and Grandpa. My daughter was missing her brothers and wanted to make a birthday card for her brother. She used my sweet treats cartridge for this card. I think I did the cutting and she put the card together and picked out the paper. I think it turned out really cute.
Day 27 at 365 Cards
The challenge for day 27 at 365 Cards is a sketch challenge. I used my A Child's Year for the girl and my Sweethearts cartridge for the tag background.
