Doll Dress
I finished one of my daughters Christmas presents! I made her a dress from this simplicity pattern from Joann; I picked it up when they had all the patterns for $1.00. I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I wasn't sure if I would finish the dress, I haven't made anything with sleeves since I was in home ec class many years ago... Of course I think I picked the hardest dress in this pattern, I was ready to leave the inset out at the neck. I left the ribbon off at the waist, I was happy with how the waist looked without the ribbon and decided to leave it alone. It's not perfect and thankfully it's for a doll but I think my daughter will be really happy with the dress. Have a great day!

Baby Card
My boys needed a baby card for one of their youth leaders surprise shower. The baby surprised everyone and decided to come before the shower so his leader wasn't there for the night. This is simple card using my cricut and the wrap it up cartridge. I used an old stamp set for the sailboat on the onesie. I used the challenge at 365 Cards , divide and conquer (Divide your card into 4 parts - and each part should have a different background pattern) This challenge is from a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to post until now. Have a great day!
Happy Camper Crunch
My daughter was star of the week at school and got to bring in a treat. She wanted to make happy camper crunch.(golden grahams, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips.) We made little treat bags for the crunch and used the cricut for the tent and sign. The tent is from campin' critters and the sign is from walk in my garden. I printed happy camper crunch on the computer. They turned out really cute and I will be making more for a camping theme event I will be part of in January. (which is actually why I showed her this great treat in the first place.)

I'm still here...
I can't believe it's been almost 2 months since my last post. I thought when school started I'd have lots of time, ha! I have been crafting, every year my Mother-in-law has a craft show at her church and I bring a few things to sell. This year she is having one at her house too. Here are some pictures from the sale.
Here are some of the wonderful things my in-laws make.
Have a great day!

I can't believe summer is almost over; school starts for my kids next Thursday. Today my husband took off work and we went on a family bike ride along Lake Michigan, stopped at the beach, and went out to lunch. What a fun way to enjoy some of the last days of summer. I enjoyed some raspberry ice tea with lunch another favorite summer drink.

Vintage Scrapbook Page-Grandma
This week at 365 Cards is vintage week. Monday's challenge was vintage plus red, I didn't make a card but I decided to use this challenge to make a scrapbook page of my Grandma. I haven't posted in a while because we were on vacation. We go "up north" every year for vacation to my parents lake home. This year my Grandma was able to come for part of the time and stay at my aunt & uncle's across the lake. It was so wonderful to be able to spend some time with Grandma on vacation! Love you Grandma!

Grandma's 90th Birthday
A couple of weeks ago we celebrated my Grandma's 90th birthday party. She is one of the greatest women I know. Grandma is the one who introduced me to crafting many years ago, she gave me a small plastic sewing box for Christmas one year along with some embroidery projects to make. I recently gave my daughter that sewing box and introduced her to embroidery thread, right now she is making friendship bracelets. I think I will show her how to do some embroidery. Grandma's made every great grandchild an embroidered quilt that they'll save forever.
For Grandma's 90th my cousin ordered personalized M&M's and I made 160 little treat bags inspired by My Pink Stamper. The M&M's had pictures of Grandma on them and they were a big hit! On each of the tables we placed these picture holders with a picture on each side. To make these I used mod podge to adhere paper to a piece of wood and followed a tutorial from Mamie Jane's to make the wire holder. My Aunt had pictures of Grandma as a baby on up to the present. Grandma loved it and I loved being part of her special day! Love you Grandma!
My Pink Stamp Design Challenge
My Pink Stamper is having a design team call with a challenge to make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......Orange, Turquoise, Green, Brown,(other optional color of your choice) I made a card using my forever young cartridge with stickles on the flowers and on the orange. The card stock is stampin' up and the paper is My Mind's Eye. The ribbon is from my stash, maybe hobby lobby and the stamp is from an older stamp set. Have a great day!

Bean Salsa
This recipe from my friend Gail is my families favorite summer salsa. My husband does not like beans, peppers, tomatoes, or corn in things but he loves this salsa. Its a great way to get your kids to eat some veggies! I never wait to let it sit over night, we always eat it right away. I think I'll make some today...
Bean Salsa:
1 small can corn, drained & rinsed (I use white shoepeg corn)
1 12oz can black beans, drained & rinsed
5 roma tomatoes chopped (I usually use 2)
1/2 cup green pepper chopped
1/2 cup red pepper chopped
minced red onion
minced garlic
chopped cilantro
little salt, to taste
lime juice
8oz Zesty Italian dressing
Mix together and let sit overnight. Serve with tortilla chips.
Enjoy!

A Little Hello Card
Monday's challenge at 365 Cards is a color challenge. At Fantabulous Cricut the challenge for this week is pool time- create a water themed project. I used my child's year cartridge. I didn't get a chance to post this card on the 4th, too busy with parade, cooking out, fireworks, spending time with the family. This year was quieter then usually since our oldest is off the camp this week, first time for him. Have a great day!

Just a Note Squirrel Card
Thursday's challenge at 365 Cards is feeling fuzzy-giving some element of your card a "fuzzy" feel to it. I just picked up some "fuzzy" felt cutouts from a friend's craft sale. She had this cutout along with some others and these papers in a kit. The stamp is CTMH and I used my cuttlebug to cut the scallop squares.
"Blue Ribbon" Birthday Card
Tuesday's challenge at 365 Cards was a Blue Ribbon challenge. It doesn't actually have to be blue, but at least blue ribbon-inspired. I made a birthday card, I changed the birthday to 4th of July this morning. My son left for camp this morning and I sent it with him since he will be gone for the 4th this year. I hid it in the pocket of his duffel bag that all his underwear are in, I wonder when he'll find the card...

1950's Sunglasses Birthday card
Saturday's challenge at 365 Cards is do that decade-the 1950's. I thought these glasses from my forever young cricut cartridge looked like some cool 50's sunglasses. I uses glossy accents for the lenses and it made them look very "neato"! :) Have a great day!
Peachy Birthday Card
Thursday's challenge at 365 Cards is just peachy-peach needs to be the dominant color of the card. This was a perfect time to use some of these flowers I had, they where suppose to be pink but they are definitely peachy. You never can tell when you order online... Have a great day!

Paper Pieced & Fun With Fabric
Monday's challenge at 365 Cards is paper pieced with one image and you can use one sentiment. I did add some pearls and papers, not sure if this is clean and simple but it was a simple card to make, after I was done cutting the paper for the stamped image. I really like tools to cut for me.....
Which brings me to Wednesday's challenge at 365 Cards -fun with fabric. The challenge is to use fabric a specific way to go with a stamped image. I cut the image and the fabric with my cricut. I think this is the first time I've tried cutting fabric with my cricut and it worked beautifully, I used heat n bond on the fabric first. I don't know if this will qualify for the challenge, no stamped image, but I had "fun with fabric." : ) I'm so happy to finally have a couple cards to post. I've been busy with other things and haven't posting in a while. We'll see what the rest of summer brings. Have a great day!
