Day 121-Shades of Red

Today's color challenge at 365 Cards is red-use at least 3 shades of red on your card.  Today is my anniversary so red is the perfect color to make a card for my hubby.  I had this great textured red paper I've been waiting to use and I used my sweethearts cart for this card.  Have a great day!

Day 119 & 120

Sunday's challenge at 365 Cards is super sketchy Sunday.  I used my home decor cart for the bird and a Martha Stewart punch.

The challenges this week at 365 Cards are color challenges.    Mondays challenge was shades of green, use at least 3 shades of green on your card.  I had the perfect ribbon for this challenge, I have 3 shades of green in my ribbon.  I used a digi stamp from Stretch N' Bubbles.  Have I mentioned I love green, we'll see what the rest of the week brings.  Have a great day!

Day 112-Super Sketchy Sunday

Last Sunday's challenge at 365 Cards was super sketchy  Sunday.  This was the only card I was able to make this week because we were having to much fun in the sun.  Have a great week!

Guacamole

This is my favorite snack this summer.  I use the recipe from Simply Recipes for perfect guacamole.  The only change I make is I add a little minced garlic and I add more cilantro.  My family loves it, at least the ones who will try it.  My boys won't even try it, that's ok more for the rest of us.  Have a great day!

Day 113-Ad Inspired

The challenge for day 113 at 365 Cards is ad inspired.  I was able to work on this card last night while we were in the basement waiting for the tornado warnings to pass.  Thankfully we did not have any damage but about 20 miles away 20+ homes were damaged or destroyed.  Thankfully no one lost their life and there were only minor injuries. 

Day 108-Sing-Along...With a Twist

The challenge for day 108 at 365 Cards is sing along with a twist.  The song for this challenge is "Rainbow  Connection" and the twist is to not use a rainbow.  I think this is the hardest challenge yet.  I could come up with nothing so I had my hubby listen to the lyrics and he liked wish on the morning star.  Well this isn't the morning star but this is what I came up with.  Whew, done for this week. 

Did you know that Morning Star is the name given to the planet Venus when it appears in the East (morning sky) before sunrise.  Just a little tidbit I learned this week.

Day 111-Stunning Silhouette... With a Twist

Day 110 at 365 Cards is stunning silhouette with a twist.  The challenge is to create a silhouette on your card.  The twist is to make you card black and white.  I used my Sweethearts cart for this card too. 

Day 110-Love is in the Air...With a Twist

Day 110 at 365 Cards is love is in the air with a twist.  The challenge is to create a wedding card with the work love on the card.  The twist is keep it "non-traditional" - very little white, no cake, dress, or ring, or the typical symbols that are found on a wedding card.  I used my sweethearts cart for this card.

Day 109-Stripes and Bold Colors-With a Twist

Day 109 at 365 Cards is stripes and bold colors.  The twist is you can only have 4 colors.  If you don't count the white I used 4 colors.

Day 107-That Special Guy-With a Twist

Day 107 at 365 Cards is that special guy with a twist.  The  challenge is to use an argyle pattern and create a card for a special man in your life.  The twist is to use the argyle as a piece of "fabric" on the card. 

Day 106-Fun with Fabric...With a Twist

Day 106 at 365 Cards is fun with fabric with a twist.  This week at 365 Cards is a week of challenges with a twist.  The challenge for Monday is fun with fabric the twist is stamp an image on patterned fabric and incorporate it into your card.  I used fabric for the background too.

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is life's a party-the challenge is to use the word 'party' somewhere on your card.

Dat 103-Peek a boo

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is peek a boo card.  The challenge for today is to cut out part of an image so that the color and/or pattern on the inside acts as part of the image.  I used my everyday paper dolls cart for the butterfly and the inside of the card is a gift card holder.  Have a great day!

Day 102-Repetition is the Key

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is repetition is the key-use a word and an image at least 3 times on your card.  As you can tell from the card today is the last day of school for my kids.  My daughter got home an hour before my son so I let her pick out the theme for this card.  She wanted to make a school's out card for her brother.  We made the school's out paper on the computer and cut the buses with my doddlecharms cart.  Time for summer fun to begin...

Day 100-All Lined Up

Day 100 at 365 Cards is all lined up.  The challenge is to get things lined up in rows. In fact, everything from the embellishments to the sentiment should be lined up, and you'll need to have at least THREE items in each line that you create.  For some reason this challenge was super hard for me, I think it's because I have a hard time lining things up.  I've never been able to draw or cut a straight line without tools. 

Day 101-Inchie x 10

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is inchie x 10-put at least 10 inchies on your card.  I used 12 on my card.  Only a 1/2 day of school tomorrow for my kids and schools out for the summer.  Have a great day!

Dayy 99-So Charming

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is so charming-not just to use a charm on your card, but to create one out of paper.  I used my doodlecharms cart for my ice cream charm.  Only 3 1/2 days until school is out for my kids.  Time for fun in the sun.  Have a great day!

Day 97-Supersize It

Day 97 at 365 Cards is super size it-make an extra large card, so that when the cardstock is folded, the dimensions of the card are at least 5.5"x8.5" 

Father's Day Picture

I saw this really cute idea for a picture for dad at Sisters Stuff.  You make large letters that spell out DAD and take a picture with each child holding a letter.  If you have 3 children, which I do, it works out perfectly.  Have a great day!

Day 95-It's So You

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is it's so you.  This challenge is all about creating a card that is a reflection of YOU.  I knew the card would be brown and green,  which pretty much describes my wardrobe.  Of course the paper I used I bought on clearance, the ribbon is some I saved off of a gift I received-never throw something away you might use later.  The stamp is one I picked from the stash of stamps I am borrowing from my MIL.  This was a very simple card to make and I live a very simple life, as simple as you can with 3 children.  Have a great day!

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is a combo card-grab one 365 Cards challenge from March, one from April, and one from May, and create your own challenge with them.  I used  day 20-let's make some noise; day 53-front, back, and everything in between; day 88-insect frenzy.

Day-93 Clowning around

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is clowning around.  This is what I came up with.  I used my everyday paper dolls cart and changed things up to make a clown.  The outfit is actually the space boys outfit that I cut off the gloves, the shoes I cut out free hand and the nose is the smaller hole punch on the crop-a-dile.
