Where have I been? Life has been crazy and I haven't posted anything on this blog for awhile. I have been spending time in my craft room but I haven't taken any pictures...
Last week I organized a mother daughter tea at church and had a wonderful time. We reused some tissue paper flowers from a wedding I helped with last year, they worked out perfectly for the tea. Several ladies from church made the wonderful food. It was a wonderful night and many of the girls said this was the best night! Later I'll post the party favors and the craft. Have a great day!
I finished one of my daughters Christmas presents! I made her a dress from this simplicity pattern from Joann; I picked it up when they had all the patterns for $1.00. I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I wasn't sure if I would finish the dress, I haven't made anything with sleeves since I was in home ec class many years ago... Of course I think I picked the hardest dress in this pattern, I was ready to leave the inset out at the neck. I left the ribbon off at the waist, I was happy with how the waist looked without the ribbon and decided to leave it alone. It's not perfect and thankfully it's for a doll but I think my daughter will be really happy with the dress. Have a great day!
My boys needed a baby card for one of their youth leaders surprise shower. The baby surprised everyone and decided to come before the shower so his leader wasn't there for the night. This is simple card using my cricut and the wrap it up cartridge. I used an old stamp set for the sailboat on the onesie. I used the challenge at 365 Cards , divide and conquer (<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Divide your card into 4 parts - and each part should have a different background pattern) This challenge is from a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to post until now. My daughter was star of the week at school and got to bring in a treat. She wanted to make happy camper crunch.(golden grahams, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips.) We made little treat bags for the crunch and used the cricut for the tent and sign. The tent is from campin' critters and the sign is from walk in my garden. I printed happy camper crunch on the computer. They turned out really cute and I will be making more for a camping theme event I will be part of in January. (which is actually why I showed her this great treat in the first place.)
Ladies Prayer Grouphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06521780315809560695noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810988759637460518.post-16162994506954624242011-10-20T11:26:00.000-07:002011-10-20T11:26:52.130-07:00I'm still here...

I can't believe it's been almost 2 months since my last post. I thought when school started I'd have lots of time, ha! I have been crafting, every year my Mother-in-law has a craft show at her church and I bring a few things to sell. This year she is having one at her house too. Here are some pictures from the sale.

The challenge is to make a card thinking of raspberry lemonade-yum, a favorite summer drink. I can't believe summer is almost over; school starts for my kids next Thursday. Today my husband took off work and we went on a family bike ride along Lake Michigan, stopped at the beach, and went out to lunch. What a fun way to enjoy some of the last days of summer. I enjoyed some raspberry ice tea with lunch another favorite summer drink.
Monday's challenge was vintage plus red, I didn't make a card but I decided to use this challenge to make a scrapbook page of my Grandma. I haven't posted in a while because we were on vacation. We go "up north" every year for vacation to my parents lake home. This year my Grandma was able to come for part of the time and stay at my aunt & uncle's across the lake. It was so wonderful to be able to spend some time with Grandma on vacation! She is one of the greatest women I know. Grandma is the one who introduced me to crafting many years ago, she gave me a small plastic sewing box for Christmas one year along with some embroidery projects to make. I recently gave my daughter that sewing box and introduced her to embroidery thread, right now she is making friendship bracelets. I think I will show her how to do some embroidery. Grandma's made every great grandchild an embroidered quilt that they'll save forever.
The M&M's had pictures of Grandma on them and they were a big hit! On each of the tables we placed these picture holders with a picture on each side. To make these I used mod podge to adhere paper to a piece of wood and followed a tutorial from Mamie Jane's to make the wire holder.

Which brings me to Wednesday's challenge at 365 Cards -fun with fabric. The challenge is to use fabric a specific way to go with a stamped image. I cut the image and the fabric with my cricut. I think this is the first time I've tried cutting fabric with my cricut and it worked beautifully, I used heat n bond on the fabric first. I don't know if this will qualify for the challenge, no stamped image, but I had "fun with fabric." : ) I'm so happy to finally have a couple cards to post. I've been busy with other things and haven't posting in a while. We'll see what the rest of summer brings. Have a great day!
Ladies Prayer Grouphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06521780315809560695noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810988759637460518.post-29442229944371782682011-06-04T19:58:00.000-07:002011-06-04T19:59:06.299-07:00Blog Candy

Here is a picture of some blog candy I won from Paper Transformer last month. Lots of fun things, I'll have fun playing with it! I've been so busy these last few weeks I haven't posted anything... With school out next week I'm hoping to post a few things, who am I kidding with school out I probably won't have anytime. Hopefully summer will be full of fun times with the kids. Next year my oldest will be starting high school, where does the time go? I need to get going on his scrapbook! Have a great weekend!Ladies Prayer Grouphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06521780315809560695noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810988759637460518.post-21952321169623179282011-05-17T13:23:00.000-07:002011-05-17T13:23:30.309-07:00Birthday Card
Sunday's challenge at 365 Cards is super sketchy Sunday.
Ladies Prayer Grouphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06521780315809560695noreply@blogger.com6
